Job Description:
Weatherford Public Schools is seeking a compassionate, student-centered Guidance Counselor for East Intermediate School (Grades 5-6). The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students while collaborating with staff, families, and the community.

 

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in School Counseling or related field is preferred

• Oklahoma School Counselor Certification with appropriate endorsement (preferred)

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and student needs

• Experience working with upper elementary or middle school students preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling for students in grades 5 and 6

• Support students’ academic, career, and personal/social development

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to identify and address student needs

• Coordinate and implement guidance curriculum and SEL programming

• Assist with conflict resolution, behavior interventions, and crisis response

• Maintain confidentiality and ethical practices in alignment with state and district policies

• Participate in IEP and 504 meetings as needed

Salary:
Based on Weatherford Public Schools Certified Salary Schedule and years of experience
